Kristin Cook
Preconstruction Coordinator
Kristin’s been in the industry since she was 17, where she worked part-time at a local Kansas City home builder. What started as a high school job led to a 12 year career as a Project Assistant. Her passion and excitement for commercial construction led her to Straub Construction—and we’re grateful she’s spent the last 11 years with us.
Kristin (or, K, as she’s called in our office) loves the fast-paced and ever-changing environment of construction. As our Preconstruction Coordinator, she juggles multiple tasks to ensure the success of our Preconstruction team. Whether she’s spearheading market research to find mission-fit projects, reading through plans and specs, or working with subs on bidding scopes of work — let’s face it, we couldn’t do it without her.
She’s also our resident party planner and throws the best holiday parties and family picnics around.
Kristin appreciates Straub’s family-oriented culture and our “work hard, play hard” philosophy. More importantly, she’s a full-time wife and mom to two kids, Kaylee and Carter. Her weekends are full of wrestling and baseball tournaments, cooking, and her recent new hobby of wine making. We’re excited to be her dedicated taste-testers.
